“When the life I built came crashing to the ground, when the friends I had were nowhere to be found, I couldn’t see it then but I see it now, there was Jesus.” (verses from “There was Jesus” by Zach Williams)
We had the privilege of serving 28 people today and Wednesday.
- It was good to see our old friends and some new friends. One of our new friends told us of an apartment he lost because of having his friends of the street there. Sometimes their loyalty to one another causes them sacrifices. Jesus’ disciples suffered great sacrifices and death being loyal to His teaching after He died.
- Most of our new friends are happy to get our packet of $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card. Wet came upon one gentleman who was very skeptical of us. Even with the urging from his friends Jay and Rob, he would not accept our packet or water/Gatorade/Oreos. The wall of pride can be difficult to break down.
- We ran into Ron again. We had not seen him in a few months. He was toting multiple bags of cans for redemption. He was happy to see us and always so pleasant.
- Kay and Mike are new to the street, some are down on their luck, some of our regular friends are seasoned veterans of the street; cuts/scrapes show that. It’s not an easy life pushing around a shopping cart, wheelchair, or rolling walker with all your worldly possessions from spot to spot.
- Ran into our Friends J and Jac, was asking about them on the street Iwas Glad to see them. J had a new Friend with him, Brianna, hers eyes were the window to Her Soul they seemed Lifeless. Life on the street with an Addiction will do that. I told them I had been Praying for Them. Prayer is the Only Tool we have for Them sometimes.
“Lord let your face shine on us”. Psalm 4:2
God bless,
