“Sometimes I wanna wrap my coat around you, sometimes I wanna keep you warm” lyrics from song “Winter” by the Rolling Stones

December 21, 2024

Today, we had the privilege of serving 33 people.

  • With the cold weather settling in, after a couple of inches of snow, our friends seem to be a little more desperate.  Along with our packet of $10 bill/$10 DK Card/prayer card, we were able to give them whatever they needed.
  • There is always a sad note doing this ministry.  Our friend (Marie) who we have been seeing in the last few months, was thrown off a bridge and was med flown to a Boston hospital and is in a coma with brain damage.  There is always an element of violence that is part of street life.  Any slight confrontation, however small, can trigger a violent response.  (Marie) was street tough, but her toughness may have cost her.  We pray for her and her family.
  • We continue to speak with our friends about getting help.  We just say when you are ready, call.  They have our numbers. With Christmas here it will be another holiday away from family and loved ones. We ran into our friend (Chris) who when he recognized us started waving his hands like he’s directing a plane on a runway. He gets so excited when he sees us, he can barely talk. We gave him our packet with some socks and gloves, and other stuff.  Then we noticed he was wearing a women's winter coat. We gave him a new high visibility winter coat.  I mentioned this will help when he’s walking in the street so he’s to people driving. He was over the moon with the coat. God Bless him.
  • I have been reading lately about people who have had transformations by hearing the call of God.  Sometimes it is just a small whisper and sometimes it’s a loud shout.  The important thing is that we continue to listen and see what God wants us to hear and see.  Am I listening today?  Jim used to use the analogy of a radio signal.  When we are far away the signal is all static; when we are close to the signal (God) the signal is strong.  Every one of the 33 people we met today has a story, some more tragic than others.  We pray and hope they get closer to the signal (God).

God Bless,

Claire and Shaun Teed and Tito
