“O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast heard me”. Psalm 30:2
“Now life devalues day by day as friends and neighbors turn away” Lyrics from the song “A Great Day for Freedom” by David Gilmour
We had the privilege of serving 20 people today.
- We missed some of our regular friends today as sometimes the conception of time gets lost from the daily grind of street life. Sleeping during the daylight hours rather than nighttime is much safer to keep from being robbed or beaten. It’s a stressful existence trying to get food, money, shelter, clothing or something to quell the raging noise between their ears.
- We pulled up to our friend Lee whose stitches over her eye have healed but the whole right side of her face was black and blue. When I asked what happen, she told us she was thrown down a flight of stairs and spent a couple of days in the hospital. The doctors told her her liver was enlarged and she stated it was not from drinking. Denial can sometimes be so Powerful it will follow them to the gates of Hell. I held her hand and told her I was still praying for her. We gave her our packet of $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card and socks.
- We met a new friend, Dennis, who told us he was a veteran and we told him we are grateful for his service. He was very happy to receive our packet and brief conversation. We also met a new friend, Tom, who received our packet as well along with sox, underwear and a tee shirt. Some type of trauma earlier in life keeps them feeling unworthy of God’s Grace or someone’s love and kindness. We told him “God bless…God loves you”.
God bless,
Claire and Shaun Teed
