“I’ve trusted in you, Jesus, to save me from sin. Heaven is the place I call my home. But I keep getting caught up in this world I’m living in.” Lyrics from “There is a Reason” by Alison Krauss & Union Station

Today, we had the privilege of serving 27 people.
- We met a new friend today (Paulie). When I approached him he seemed quite surprised at what I was offering him. He proceeded to tell me of all his religious affiliations and showed me his tattoos. I told him the most important thing is that you are a human being. I think some of our friends sometimes don’t realize this until someone shows them some love and kindness.
- We met up with our friends (Sue, Jack, Tom). I questioned Sue about the bandage wrapping on her left arm. She replied, “It’s just a cut that got infected”. It’s easy for a cut to get infected on the street without any place to clean up properly. Some of our friends are ashamed to shake our hands because of the dirt on their fingers and under their nails. We replace a handshake with a hug. The small bottles of hand sanitizer and hand wipes are always in demand. These help with keeping infections down.
- We met up with (John) who continues to look more and more beaten down by the street life. I asked where (Kathy) was and he replied, “She has pneumonia”; another symptom of street life. I am sure trying to get a meal out of a dumpster or street barrel doesn’t help with any infections.
- We have been overwhelmed with the donations of sweatpants, hooded sweatshirts, hats, socks, underwear. We are currently good with these items. We are in great need of small bottles of hand sanitizer and hand wipes.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to all who donate to this ministry. Without your support we could not continue.
“Hear my prayer, Lord, listen to my cry for help, do not be deaf to my weeping.” Psalm 39:12 NIV
