“Been pushing through a crowd on an empty street, everything you worked for but still can’t see. Baby take it from someone who knows, I am trying hard just to get back home”, Versus from “Baby I Lost My Way” by Nathaniel Rateliff
“I’ll Always Love My Mama”, song by the Intruders
We had the privilege of serving 26 people today.
- It seemed strange that our friends wished us a happy Mother’s Day. I thought about their own mothers worrying and wondering about their child’s situation and well being along with their whereabouts, being the month of Mary, our true Mother. Some of our friends disappear from the lives of their loved ones, sometimes never to be seen again. There are not much more worse things than to watch your child go beyond your reach.
- It was good to see our old friends. One of our friends, D, was glad to see us. I asked how he was doing. He replied he had been walking in circles trying to figure out how to get his belongings out of Mainspring Shelter and where to put them. He said an angel stepped in and offered to rent him a small storage unit to put his belongings. Sometimes Christ shows up with many faces.
- We ran into R who I had been asking around town about. He told me he was sleeping in a different doorway. We gave him our $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card. He needed socks/underwear/tee shirts/shacks/sweatshirt. Sometimes they need to start all over again with clothes and such because of theft or the elements. I told him we are always praying for him.
“God is love and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him” 1 John 4:16
God bless,
