“These things I command you that you love one another”.  John 15:17

We had the privilege of serving 27 people today.

  • We met the father of one of our friends who is also homeless.  We chatted about how long he has been on the street.  I asked if he heard about the poor soul that was stabbed to death this past week at the park off of Montello Street.  He happened to be a friend of his.  Another life cut short by life on the street.  If their addictions don’t kill them, the violence that comes with this lifestyle will.  We hope and pray that they will one day make a decision to make a change through God’s grace and mercy.  Most of our friends don’t feel worthy of God’s love.  The road to reconciliation seems so long and hard.
  • The water and Gatorade, along with our packets of $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card are always a welcomed sight.  We brought Mandarin oranges along with our snacks of Oreos and Cheez Its.  Some of our friends asked for socks, underwear, tee shirts.
  • We ran into our friend Sarah who we had not seen in a while.  It is sometimes shocking to see our friends after not seeing them for a while.  More physical scars, bruises, the shakes, never mind the emotional scars that are written in their eyes.
  • A good friend donated a bunch of string backpacks which will help keep what little belongings they have together.  We want to thank those who support the ministry in many ways.  As Jim would say, “Remember the Mission”.

God Bless,

Claire and Shaun Teed
