“I know the only reason I can stand here unashamed, it’s not because I’m worthy, it’s all because of mercy” Lyrics from song “All Because of Mercy” by Casting Crowns

Today, we had the privilege of serving 32 people.
- We met some new friends today. (Jay) just got out of the hospital, still had wrist band on and bandages on his hands (most likely from giving him fluids). He was visibly shaking from the cold. We fixed him up with gloves, hat, snacks and our $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card. He said God bless you. God Bless you Brother.
- We met (Shannon) who came up to us driving a car, she explained the car belongs to a friend of hers. She was happy to meet us. At first, we were skeptical because she had a car, but we soon found out she was living out of it.
- We ran into our friend (Kathy) who was upset about what happened to her a few days ago. She was trying to stay clean on her own but ended up relapsing and overdosed. While the EMTs were working on her, someone stole her bag with all her stuff in it. As I write this, we are working on trying to get her into a detox. We tell her we love her and will do whatever it takes to get her help.
- We ran into (Shane, James, Rob). They informed me that (Lee) has been in the hospital with MRSA infection (another symptom of street life). We met with Shane and he looks almost unrecognizable. We talked about him getting help again. The severe weather from the last couple of days has caused him to lose just about everything (tent, clothes, blankets). Luckily, I had just picked up a tent the other day. We gave him blankets, jacket, socks, underwear, gloves, hat, thanks to all the generosity of people who support this important ministry.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation”. Isiah 12:2
God Bless,
