“I am the vine; you are the branches”, John 15:5

  • We went back to going out on Saturday mornings. It seems we were missing a lot of our friends. We are worried about our Friend Russ, we have not seen him in a few weeks. Last time we saw him he was having issues with other People and BPD. We continue to Pray for Our Friends.
  • We met some new friends today. A lot of our friends were at Mainspring Shelter for lunch. We met Carlos and Alex under the bridge. They seemed so lifeless with their heads down. I got out of the car and approached them with our standard line “could you use some help”? Immediately their eyes widened when they saw the $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card. Their English was not good, but everyone knows “God bless you”.

“The Lord is Close to the Broken Hearted: He Rescues those who,s Spirits are Crushed” Psalms 34:19

“Look at my life now tattered and torn” (versus from “Hold Me Now” by the Thompson Twins)

  • It was good to see our regular friends and some new friends on L Street. Last week we talked to our friend J about going back into treatment. He told me he would let me know if he did. We came upon his friend, Annie, and spoke about her going into treatment. She was also thinking about it. I told her “you know you don’t have to life like this”. Sometimes being locked into addiction keeps you from believing there is a better life.
  • We met Bob in front of Dunkin Donuts, gave him our packet of $10 bill/$10 DK card/prayer card. He asked about Jim and I told him he had passed. I went to the car and gave him Jim’s mass card and a “Christ is Counting on You” cross. When we drove back by him, he had the cross in his hand and was staring down at it. “Make a friend, be a friend, bring a friend to Christ”.

“The Lord is close to the broken hearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed” Psalms 34:19

God bless, Claire and Shaun
