“I am no longer a slave to fear oh, I am a child of God” lyrics to song, “No Longer Slaves” by Zach Williams

Temperature: 82° / Mostly sunny
We had the privilege of serving 20 people today.
- We opted to go out on Sunday instead of Saturday because of the rain. We didn’t see some of our regular friends because of the change of days. We met up with our friends, Annie, Tony, and Tim. I spoke to them about how the funding for the Champion Program is ending. The resources for treatment are getting scarce, along with the supreme court ruling that it is now illegal to camp out on public property. We can only pray and hope that someday our friends may have a moment of clarity (grace) when they realize they don’t have to live like this and get into Treatment. With the recent weather, Gatorade, water, snacks, along with socks, underwear, tee shirts have been much needed.
- We keep asking our friends if they have seen Russ or Lisa. In the process of our friends having to keep moving because of various situations on the street, they seem to vanish. Prayer is the only tool we have, besides our kindness and love, along with the small gifts we bring them. It’s most likely the only bright spot in their day. To live the true Christian ideal style of life serving the needs of others must be the most important thing we do. We can get caught up in our daily lives, but we must realize that the things we sometimes complain about, our friends on the street are praying for. Like Jim would say, “remember the mission to bring the love of Christ”. He will do the rest.
- We met a new friend today, Aaron. When asked if he needed help, he replied, “I need all the help I can get”. We gave him our packet of $10/$10 DK card/Prayer card along with snacks, underwear and socks. He said to us “God bless you”. Liz looked at me and said, “they are saying that to us?” We always tell them we are praying for them, and God bless. “When the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than change, only then will we surrender”, Grace Speare.
- There have been gracious donors to OSM, who drop off items at the Retreat House. With this weather, small Gatorade and small bottles of water have been mostly needed. Some donors of items have been anonymous, but we would like to thank you personally. If items are dropped off, please leave your email or address. Thanks for all the love and support for this vital ministry.
God bless,
Liz Londergan
