“How I wish, how I wish you were here, we’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year” lyrics from “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd

October 27, 2024

Today, we had the privilege of serving 15 people.

  • We did an abbreviated trip to the streets this day. Because of a change of day from Saturday to Sunday, we didn’t meet up with some of our friends.  We were able to connect with some of our friends through text messages and made them aware of when we would be around.
  • Sweatpants, hooded sweatshirts, leggings, socks, blankets were very much welcomed.  Thanks to the love and support of this ministry, along with the DK cards, money, snacks, etc., God’s love shines through these donors.
  • I picked the title song for this summary because of a discussion that came up with our friends about being unable to see their children because of their lifestyle.  You could see the pain in their eyes when one of our friends (Kathy) mentioned she and (Shane) are not allowed to see their child. The discussion we have with our friends always revolves around making that leap of faith and going into treatment, and we were happy to hear that (Kay) was going into treatment the following day.
  • Kathy and myself  were discussing how we take the simple pleasures of life for granted.  This was brought on by a statement that our friend (Annie) made to us, “I would love to be able to sleep in a real bed and take a real shower”.
  • The change in weather shows in their weathered faces and hands a preview of what is to come with winter approaching   Hand sanitizer and hand wipes have been in demand.

Once again, a heartfelt thank you to all who donate to this ministry. Without your support we could not continue.

“I am worn out from my groaning, all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears”.  Psalm 6:6

God Bless,
