God loves you and wants the best for you.

Sunday, October 30, 2022.
This day, God gave us the privilege of serving 42 people.
“God loves you and wants the best for you.”
Ryan, Jeremiah and his girlfriend, Anita, are three young homeless people we’ve known for nearly a year. We have had many conversations, sharing about where we grew up, our religious and family backgrounds, and life’s challenges. They are honest with us about their addiction problems. Ryan said to us, “We watch for your truck. Some people give us a dollar or water and snacks, but you’re the only people who hang out and talk with us.” We told them “That’s what we’re here for, to help you out a little, but more importantly, to remind you that God loves you and wants the best for you.” Laughingly, Jeremiah said, “I don’t know about that! We are screwups! God’s probably pretty mad at us.” We told him, “God has never been angry at any of you; He’s always been very worried about each of you.” Ryan said, I got sober once but it didn’t last very long.” Then Anita remarked, “We talk about getting sober, but it seems impossible.” Smiling, we decided to plant a seed, “All things are possible with God. Why don’t you give Him a chance. Talk it over among yourselves. If you decide that you really want to get sober, say a prayer asking God to help you. But before you pray, be sure you really want to get sober because if you ask for God’s help, He will surely help you.”
“To plant a seed is to believe in tomorrow.”
