‍We had the privilege of serving 27 people today.

• It was good to see/meet new friends today along with our regular friends. We met Angel who is no stranger to the street. She mentioned the loss recently of a friend to the street, J Head. She gave us a little history of the amount of people she has known that died in the past year, saddening. We met a young man Mike, In the short time we have seen him on the street we have witnessed the deterioration of his health and appearance from life on the Street.
• Kathy asked me, I wonder when their lives went sideways? We can’t get all their history in our brief encounters, but you can be sure they’ve suffered severe trauma in their lives, both physical and mental abuse and then ended up turning to alcohol or drugs to quiet the raging beast in their heads. The chaotic life on the street can sometimes be the only alternative for our friends.
• We came upon Rachel, one of our friends, who said she was looking into maybe a treatment program long term. We spoke to her about some options and suggested she reach out to Brockton Champions Program and gave her Peg’s number. Our Friend Russ when asked if there was anything else he needed after we gave him our packet and some snacks, he |Replied Prayers , I assured him he Has Them.
• Driving up N. Main we came upon Stevie who looked so down. We gave him our packet of $10 bill/$10 DK card/ prayer card. His eyes widened -- he could not believe it. We gave him Oreos, snacks, water, Gatorade…we were the only bright spot he had in a long time after losing his fiancé and their baby. Grief can sometimes be like the tide coming in and out. His reaction made Us both |Feel this is what the |Love of |Christ is all about.
