About
Every Sunday, we have the privilege of serving 20-30 people in need. Their stories and circumstances vary but they’re alike in their desperation. The number of people living “on the street” can be overwhelming. But, it's important to remember that every person is unique and that “one on one is how it’s done.”
With every new person we meet we offer our small packet containing a $10 bill, a Dunkin Donuts card, and our prayer card and ask, “Could you use a little help?” And every time we hear, “What’s this for" and "why are you giving me this?” Although some people on the street “stem” (beg) for money, others are not comfortable asking for money. But typically, our new friend will hesitantly take our gift and offers a quiet, “Thank you.”
We remind ourselves that although the monetary gift we offer will help to sustain those we serve physically, we hope even more that the verse on our prayer card will soften their hearts and strengthen their faith.
The ministry reflections on these pages are true accounts with names changed to protect the dignity of those we serve. We pray that these stories will remind every reader that we are all created by God and worthy of His love.

Keeping the Candle Lit
There have been many questions as to the status of Jim and Terry’s “On the Street Ministry” since Jim’s passing. Jim would talk to me about this ministry when he and Terry first started.
With each story of the people they met Jim would tell me, “They taught me more than I could ever teach them.” I said to myself, “I don’t think I could ever do that type of ministry.” During the last 6-8 months of Jim’s life, we would have discussions about some of the people he would meet, and Jim would update me on their locations and conditions.
One day while sitting in their dining room talking to Terry, I looked down at the magnetic sticker Jim would attach to his truck. I asked Terry what was going to happen with the street ministry? She replied, “nothing, no one is taking it over.” This is where God stepped in. I told Terry I could help with this. Terry’s reply was “you need to tell him that right now.” I spoke to Jim and he was happy with this news. We then started going over the routine and the players who are part of this. He showed me how to wrap the $10 DK card with a $10 bill along with prayer card.
I recruited my wife, Claire, and Kathy Flaherty to help me. Other major players are Ed D’Alelio and his wife, Dawn. And Terry Orcutt will continue to be active in the Ministry. We are also in the process of updating this website with the help of Denis Concannon. Information on how to help and donate, and a new resource page for those in need are now on this website and will be updated as time goes on. We have been going out on the street since January. Thanks to everyone for all your support and prayers to keep this vital ministry going.
God Bless,
Shaun Teed
